Before your visits begin, a meet and greet will be arranged so that your pet(s) can become acquainted with their Sitter, and the Sitter can learn their routines. If your pet is ready for a new BFF, reach out to learn more and schedule your Meet & Greet!
Meet Our Owner
Owner Tara Christ is more than just a lifelong animal lover… she is a Pet Pro with 15+ experience as both a Veterinary Technician and professional Pet Sitter.
After graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Tara became a sought-after sitter that parents could trust with their beloved pets.
Before long it was time to grow. And just like that, Long Island Pet Nanny was born!

Our Services
Drop-In Visits
Pet parents rely on us for feeding, playtime and medication administration while they are at work or away from home. Drop In Visits are booked at 30, 45 or 60 minutes. For longer stays, ask about our Daytime Companion Visits!
Dog Walking
Daily walks keep dogs happy, healthy and fulfilled! Walks are typically 30-60 minutes, depending on your dogs' needs. Dog walk visits can also include meals, medications, and whatever else is needed for your pup.
Overnight Stays & Private boarding
We offer many options for Overnight Stays in your home, or Private Dog Boarding in a Sitter's home with fully fenced yards. Boarding can be booked with doggy socialization or no other pets (siblings are always welcome!)
Pet Pickup/ Transport
When your pet needs a driver, we've got you covered! We'll transport your pet in our vehicle to Private Boarding, the Vet, Groomer, or we can pick up medications or supplies and deliver to your home.
Wedding or Event Pet Attendant
Nothing makes a Pawty more special than having your BFF there! Our Pet Attendants will act as their limo driver, personal valet and wardrobe assistant. Many of our wedding clients also choose to board their pups in our homes before & after the event.
Exotics &
Livestock Care
If a vacation is eggsactly what you need, our Pet Pros will care for your farm or exotic animals when you fly the coop!
We're here for anything you may need, such as feeding, cleaning of pens and cages, egg collection, and basic home care like watering plants, bringing in your mail and alternating lights in the home.
